Digital Career Transformation: How to Survive & Thrive in the Digital Transformation Age Kindle Edition

5.0 5.0 out of 5 stars 12 ratings

This book helps career professionals execute 3 Steps to Survive & Thrive in the Digital Transformation Age.

87% of companies worldwide have implemented or are in the process of implementing Digital Transformation. There is an inevitable tipping point within most if not all industries between an old model and a new digitally transformed model.

Once this change begins within a business organization you begin seeing the ripple effects in layoffs and discharges. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics released in Q2 2019, Professional and Business Services have a 25% annual layoff and discharge rate across all regions. 66% higher than the industry average of 15%.

It has become clear that every career professional today needs to act proactively in order to survive, or even thrive, in the Digital Transformation Age.

If you feel you are a dynamic professional who finds themselves stuck and perhaps trapped in a dying career or business, trust your instincts. Scientifically speaking, those are your “fight or flight” reflexes urging you to act!

Maybe you’re like thousands of professionals I’ve worked with whose organization is going through a massive digital transformation. And you realize that unless you evolve and transform quickly, you too will face an inevitable fate you’ve witnessed others endure. The dreaded, “We really appreciate your years of service but...” conversation.

No matter your situation I urge you, I encourage you, and I invite you to join me on an amazing journey of transformation. This book is set up to not just “tell you” how to transform your career but it will “show you” how to transform yourself and your career. It will provide you step-by-step instructions along with actionable challenges that will produce that newer version of yourself and career you deserve.

You’ll Learn:
How to quickly find out if your industry, organization, and profession is at risk.

How to predict the future outlook of your industry, organization, and profession.

How to identify which industries, organizations, and career profession options you can/should transition to.

How to transform yourself into a person who is seen as an innovator and leader within your industry, organization, and profession.

How to design and obtain the career profession, financial compensation, and fulfillment that you want and deserve.

If there was anyone in the world more technology challenged it must have been myself. Like pulling teeth learning how to use a computers any form of technology was a challenge. By no other choice to survive I gradually started using the computer. I was forced into changing my career to a financial services representative. After years of reconnecting with my friend Kevin Bacon and the beginning of my career change Kevin was writing a book on digital career transformation. Having read the book right now can I clearly see the upward trend in my industry, organization, and new career profession. I can see this being a tool for growth in my new career and my growing business and team. I would highly recommend you use the DCT workbook as it will make the process easier for you.

Some people have a gift for seeing trends, for analyzing why something failed or succeeded, and develop a plan to take advantage of knowledge and opportunity so they can transform ahead of - or with - the future. Kevin Bacon has that gift and he shares it openly and willingly with those who need help as well as those who don’t yet know they need help.

This book uses historical and real world examples to explain how the digital career transformation has impacted others and can/will impact you. If you’re even slightly worried about the signs you’re seeing at work, or just feel like you’re not quite on the right path for your career, you’ll find steps and exercises to help you “survive and thrive in the digital transformation age”.

Even if your career isn’t being impacted now, the awareness will enlighten and encourage you to watch for these changes around you.

So many people feel they are digitally challenged and many others believe they've missed the boat on being a "Digital expert". Frankly, it was more about feeling intimidated, but this book did a great job of simplifying the digital landscape into digestible terms. Professionally, I see these learnings helping me immediately. It's an easy read and ignited a fire to start my digital transformation I'm going to use the "JET B.D." phrase in many conversations as well.
