Duty to self or duty to the council. That is a bit of a conundrum for our heroine.

This is book two of the series. It does okay as a standalone, but you will be missing some of the setup.

This is a paranormal romance story with a slow burn romance. The story is well written and easy to read with a detailed setting that is fun to explore. The characters are well developed with different and intriguing backgrounds that provides some variety in the story. The story moves along pretty quickly and gives us a nice introduction to the world and the challenges. I like having the necromancers as the focus, even if they can be a bit creepy. Overall, it is a nice start to a series and I look forward to seeing what comes next.

Highly recommended.

Cissy n crew are back... trying to build a council and a better image of necromancers. Cissy is doing the same with her personal life also. Some hinky stuff is going on, bad feelings, and lots of strange occurrences have everyone on watch. Suspicions are cast and a loose net cast... now to get more info n tighten that net.
Looking forward to the next episode!

Cissy is struggling with keeping her council safe. When people are coming up wounded in a similar way that Alvin did it, her irrational fears begin to take over. Can she really keep everyone safe?

This book was better than the first one. It had more action and interesting plot points than Wake the Dead, and was pretty entertaining to read. I love Darius and how he is so sweet and patient in caring for Cissy. He's willing to wait and help her any way she needs and I just can't help but love him.

I do wish there was more detail throughout the story. While the story is interesting, we're getting some pieces of information that aren't fully explained or are kind of thrown in to make the story interesting. I would've liked the story to be a little more fleshed out, but otherwise this is a good read.

Cissy really needs to concentrate on the council but with her past seemingly inescapable how can she? Darius is, as always, a rock by her side. I adore how he supports her wholeheartedly despite the pressure she puts on herself to be what she thinks he deserves. He just keeps reassuring her that whatever she is ready for or is not ready for is fine with him, he is by her side regardless. The story is a bit darker and the author has done a great job of bring the fears and trauma that Cissy is experiencing to life and handling the reason behind Cissy's reluctance for a physical relationship with tact and respect. I am really enjoying seeing Cissy evolve and heal one step at a time and I cannot wait to see how her story progresses from here.

Wow, again I loved this one, it was an amazing addition to the series. There is so much suspense with the way the story flow, then there is the romance running through it.

If this is the start then i am here for the rest.

This entertaining installment finds our heroine still struggling with her PTSD, but her hero is helping her however he can. This is a fast-paced, informative, and engaging book with mystery. I liked this book.

Cissy is teaching herself and Darius patience. She has learned to slow down and think before she acts. She's comfortable with Darius but not yet ready to have sex with him. She is not quite ready for the intimacy it brings to their relationship. Women are being attacked and cut up like she was. Is Alvin still alive and torturing human women now? Something is going on but it doesn't feel right. Something is off with the attacks. Will Cissy be able to figure out if its Alvin or someone else? Cliffhanger!

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW of Curse The Dead, the second book in The Necromancer Council series by Laura Greenwood. This story focuses on Cissy and dealing with the backlash of the PTSD following the events in book one. I love that despite these being quick reads, you get all the action and drama of a novel. The characters are well developed, and the storyline is multifaceted with a slow burn romance. Changes be coming... I can't wait to see how it's handled in the next read. Highly recommend the series and the books should be read in the order written.
