About the author
M. K. Scott is the husband and wife writing team behind The Painted Lady Inn Mysteries. Morgan K Wyatt is the general wordsmith, while her husband, Scott, is the grammar hammer and physics specialist. He uses his engineering skills to explain how fast a body falls when pushed over a cliff and various other felonious activities. The Internet and experts in the field provide forensic information, while the recipes and B and B details require a more hands on approach. Morgan’s daughter, who manages a hotel, provides guest horror stories to fuel the plot lines. The couple’s dog, Janeway, is the inspiration behind Jasper, Donna’s dog. Murder Mansion is the first book in The Painted Lady Inn Mysteries. Overall, it is a fun series to create and read. Make sure to check out The Talking Dog Detective Agency series, The Way Over the Hill Gang series, and Cupid's Catering Company series, too.

Of course they do have to sneak around--a lot. Luckily one of them has a car and is allowed out of the senior residence---the others just happen to go along for the ride (or sneak into the car!).
Meanwhile there is going to be a shuffleboard competition (hey it is better then the Bingo that is the usual thing they have as recreation)--but not all of them know how to play--who will win do you think? And what about the dog they smuggled into the no pets retirement home where they live?
You will laugh out loud at the antics that these seniors manage to do what they want to do--solve cold cases!

Herman and Lola and some of their friends belong to a group of “Senior Sleuths”. Along the way to solving the latest mystery, there are some broken rules, a nosy-busybody stowaway, strong-willed characters, and poignant musings… there’s even some shuffleboard, dogs (one of my personal weaknesses), oh, and a bit of sweet romance!
(Just because they are octogenarians doesn’t mean there’s no romance, y’all!).
Having cared for my parents in their 70s and 80s, I could really relate to some of the concerns expressed by the characters – some of the dialog was just priceless and spot on! Although it isn’t my usual reading style, I enjoyed this book. I would definitely read another book by this author.
