Hidden Magic: Harper Shadow Academy (Book One) Kindle Edition
My magic isn’t the only thing hiding in this small town…
Homeschooled all my life to care for my mother, I reluctantly accept an offer to attend the local university.
Little did I know, it's a facade concealing a supernatural academy.
Suddenly thrust into a world of magic, I discover I'm not human, and neither are the four enigmatic men vying for my attention: the brooding vampire, the mysterious witch, the gentle giant werewolf, and the sweet one whose nature eludes me.
As I grapple with newfound powers and a lifelong truth I had never been willing to accept, I uncover dark forces that have kept them hidden. But with revelation comes consequence, and I soon realize the curses I've unleashed may jeopardize not only my fate but the entire magical realm.
With malevolent forces closing in, I'm forced to confront my deepest fears and make a choice that will shape the destiny of us all.

Luna Pierce is the author of gritty romance, both dark contemporary and paranormal. She adores writing broken characters you won’t help but fall for on their journey to find themselves and fight for what they love. Her stories are for the hopelessly romantic who enjoy grit, angst, and passion.
When she’s not writing, you’ll find her consuming way too much coffee, making endless to-do lists, and spending time with her daughter and cats in small-town Ohio.

On the flip side, Willow makes many new friends during this endeavor. Willow meets four attractive young men, each drawing her to them in different ways. She makes fast friends with her dorm mates, the four girls becoming very close rather quickly. All of Willow's relationships ships happen near instantaneously, which does sometimes happen, but I like the slow burn and tough relationships. Despite this, all her relationships feel wholesome and organic and they grow in a natural and innocent way that I found to be cute and heartwarming.
The combination of Willow's curse, her many relationships and all the new info she receives becomes too much. Personally, I don't feel Willow handled it well, but with a push from a new friend, she figures things out, somewhat.
I love how Willow grows and learns throughout this ordeal. Despite it being a fast-paced book, she still learns to love her new friends and be more honest. She faces her problems head on and no longer hides herself away.
The quick pace of the story sometimes made it hard for me to stay engaged and I predicted a few of the twists and turns. This books is still a sweet coming of age story with the beginnings of an interesting romance and thrilling paranormal events. I'm still very eager to read the rest of the series and see where Willow's journey takes her.
It’s so well written. I fell in love with the characters right from the beginning. On to the next book 🩵
Ifeel sorry for the FMC's mother because she tried to tell her daughter about being a cursed wish and she just kind of blew her off even though there were tells that she was telling the truth. FMC doesn't realize her mistake until about 50% into the book where she mentioned that she feels bad that she didn't believe her mom.
The FMC kind of brushes over a lot of things especially in the beginning of the book.
One thing I do find interesting about this book is it sets the school in more of a "lower income" instead of "elite" bracket. I will say though some of the word choices in the book are a bit odd and misplaced. The plot of the book it isn't bad but I do not think I'm going to continue the series because there are multiple books to go and this book was very long winded, repetitive And felt like it just had a lot of filler space. I found myself at a certain point just getting bored putting that book down. At about 65% i starting skimming the book. We're basically answered her trying to go find her dad.

Is it wrong to say I'm loving silas alreadyyyy
Can't wait to start book 2 now
Her friends and the guys she meets along the way sure due make life interesting for her
5 stars - less than a day to read because I cannot put it down. I only give 5 stars if it has managed to engage extra emotions from me - extreme lol moments or real teary moments etc. A 5 stars book tends to have me raging about cliff hangers and (legally and not creepily) stalking the author for release dates.
4 stars - 2 days to read or less. A book that I have quite enjoyed reading, feisty MC and some racy scenes with thier romantic interest. I would definitely follow a series and author for 4 star books.
3 stars - takes around 2/3 days to read, usually because I have become distracted and less engaged in some sections but by the end the end I have enjoyed the overall story and would read any sequels.
1/2 stars not given, as I have usually returned it without finishing as I'm not engaged. .
