4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars 4,340 ratings

A reclusive heiress…a loyal servant…a mansion frozen in time.

After her husband’s plane goes down in a WWII battle, a poor nurse becomes the wealthiest widow in town.

And she never leaves her mansion for 70 years.

When estate sale organizer Audrey Nealon enters the Tate Mansion after the widow’s death, she discovers nothing’s been changed since the day the house was built. Why did the heiress and her maid eat canned soup and read used paperbacks surrounded by magnificent art and antiques? Why were the house and its contents bequeathed to a small local charity?

Audrey’s idle curiosity soon turns into a desperate need to know. Because someone wants to profit from the Tate Mansion’s secrets. And if others have to die to make that happen, so be it.

Can Audrey outwit a wily con man? Or is she is too smart to live?

Editorial Reviews

From the Author

I am so thrilled by how many readers have enjoyed Another Man's Treasure and its sequels, Treasure of Darkness, This Bitter Treasure and Treasure in Exile. Readers who enjoy women characters who are both strong and vulnerable will enjoy getting to know Audrey and her assistants, Jill and Donna. The male characters are just as compelling--Ty Griggs, Audrey's tough but loyal assistant, and Sean Coughlin, who adds romance and tension to her life. Finally, there's Audrey's dog Ethel, an obedience school dropout with a nose for trouble. Readers tell me that they've grown to love these characters because they're so real--funny, loving, frustrating, and surprising. These mysteries also take readers behind the scenes at estate sales, and provide some fascinating information on art, antiques, and collectibles.  All the Palmyrton Estate Sale mysteries are top-rated Kindle Unlimited mysteries. Truly a wonderful intriguing wonderful listen

Truly a wonderful intriguing wonderful listen
It started out slow but if you give it time it all falls together giving you an interesting twist that you don’t see coming. The author takes you back in time to War World II two young people meet fall in love, get married, one is shipped out to fly planes and the other goes back to her husbands home. Things are not easy for the woman she is way out of her element living in a big house with money she doesn’t know what to do with and a father-in-law who isn’t thrilled having her as a daughter-in-law. This couple has a plan, that is until his plane goes down and life as she knows it changes forever. Move ahead many years the woman is now old and has died but what is the mystery around her life and how is it tied into the death of another young woman who has everything she could ever want.Ms. Tedesco did a wonderful delightful job of narration giving true emotion that you can feel to the characters. You know what each one is going through and just what they are feeling. I loved how her voices all blended together naturally giving each character their own personality that worked well with the story. I felt each complimented the other why pulling you in giving you a story you couldn’t put down. There are no background noises or any repeats of words it is a very clean, clear audio that held me spellbound. The audio volume is even throughout with no high or low places. If any breaks were taken I could not tell. I loved the emotion Ms. Tedesco puts in her voice never leaving you guessing what each person is feeling from anger to happiness she hits each one right on the mark. She knows how to deliver a great listen that holds your attention and leaves you with wanting more. Her voice is very pleasant pulling you in painting a picture you can see in your mind as each scene unfolds giving you a wonderful compelling listen. I very much look forward to listening to more of her work.At first, I thought the author was putting too much filler in the story. I kept thinking what does that have to do with this. I have to say it all ties in nicely giving you a shocking story that will stay with you for some time to come. There are many twists, some with a darker side that will leave you thinking what oh my lord, how terrible. As you are taken back in time you feel the pain of people from long ago and how one persons evil will change the lives of so many for many years to come. The author gives you mystery, evil, deaths, and so much more as she twists her words right into your heart. Once she brings on the mystery she had me in the palm of her hand with a story I couldn’t put down. It was so wonderful, unique and intriguing that I have picked it as one of my favorite listens for this year.

Entertaining, kept me reading until I finished it in one day. It is a wonderful story, full of intrigue and injustice and a very satisfying ending.

I wasn't expecting much, but I found this to be a well written and interesting read. It held my interest all the way through. Good story and characters.

I love police procedural and mystery books that keep you involved and are well written. Treasure in Exile certainly delivers that completely, but I was also absorbed in the back drop of the struggle of Black and female Americans in the Twentieth Century.

I received this book free from one of the book sites. I do not remember which one! This is my honest and voluntary review.

I absolutely enjoyed reading this book. The characters were intriguing & quite memorable. Each one had a role to play in the Rosa Parks Community Center, some more honorable than others! I have read the first book in the series too, and now I have to read the full series!

The writer has a way of weaving the story that captures the imagination of the reader. She is able to develop reasonable plots that have enough twists and turns to keep the reader on their toes too. I enjoyed the interactions between the crew of Another Man's Treasure, the marital interactions with Sean & Audrey...being married to an officer of the law who won't share information is really hard on a woman who enjoys solving mysteries!

The writing is detailed, I especially enjoyed the info on how estate sales are done. The history was very interesting. The dialogue is natural and consistent, there is some swearing, but it is quite limited to the situations & not prevalent. The descriptive writing gives substance to the story & I could "see" things clearly.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys good writing wrapped up in a very good cozy mystery. Do not start this book in the evening! I started it around 11 pm & it's 5 am now! I don't give 5 stars often, but this author earned every one!

Started off with a good premise. Some nice twists. But by the , it had just gotten too convoluted to be believable.

This book is so well written and tells an interesting story of early times in the history of the U.S. The author brings together both past and present characters to weave a story of family members who loved and lost much over many years.

This book is a well written , suspenseful novel that makes you want to keep reading. The book draws you into the to follow the clues that build up to the final chapters. The characters are real people that we all know which make them seem real. Well worth the time to read.

This one needs a visual family tree to jeep it sorted. Great with all the expected twists and turns. An interesting portrait of racial differences through the years. I also like that. I wasn't sure who did. It until the end, which gets it 5 stars from me.
