The Hidden Messages in Indian Scriptures Kindle Edition

4.5 4.5 out of 5 stars 11 ratings

This book is for the knowledge seekers, who like to ponder the ancient Indian Scriptures and get the true meaning of many stories in them. Great philosopher poets like Veda Vyasa, should necessarily leave something much deeper than what meets the eye: What is the concept of God in Hinduism? Is it polytheism, pantheism, atheism, or monotheism? The answer will surprise you! The concept of Hinduism as Polytheistic is totally wrong!
Dr Albert Einstein had said “God is a mystery, but a comprehensible mystery. There are not laws without a lawgiver, but how does this lawgiver look? Certainly not like a man magnified.”
Who really are the Kauravas and Pandavas in the Mahabharata war? Is it a physical war for the kingdom or a subtle struggle for one’s own salvation, with one’s ego, desires and vices opposing its attainment? Who are the six elder brothers of Sri Krishna, born to Devaki year after year, and promptly killed by king Kamsa? Unicellular organisms slowly evolve to be multi cellular and there on to reptiles, mammals, ape and human being. The crux of Ramayana is contained in the two incidents; Sri Rama initially losing out Sita and finally regaining her, after a long struggle. What do they signify? This book provides the clues. The basic differences between the eastern religions (‘Dharmas’) and the western (Semitic), listed out here are very interesting.
Prof Nair followed the wise dictum: “When one ponders then alone does one understand” (Chhandogya Upanishad 7.18.1) and “Ask and it shall be given to you; seek, and ye shall find; knock and it shall be opened unto you”: (Matthew 7:7-8 KJV). The readers will be amply rewarded, kindling their quest for the truth. A must read.
Reviews
“…To understand and expose the mysteries and depth of human knowledge is really a challenging task. Prof G.R.C.Nair has done a commendable job in precisely bringing out the ancient wisdom, through selected topics…to highlight some of the great thoughts and vision of Sanathana dharma.”-
Padmavibhushan Dr.G.Madhavan Nair, Ex Chairman ISRO.
“Indian Scriptures form a vast ocean. GRC Nair, delved deep into it and he could fish out wonderful truths. The most beautiful part of the book is the allegory of the birth of Lord Krishna. Mahabharata war symbolism is very interesting. Dasavatara of Lord Vishnu is explained in a distinct way. This book gives a mystical explanation of Ramayana, which requires deep study. Another wonderful part of the book is the chapter on “Vedanta and Quantum Science”. Study of Economy and Science in ancient India also is a good study. The book made interesting reading and my appreciation to G.R.C.Nair.
Dr.Alexander Jacob. IPS, Director General of Police (Rtd), Kerala State.
“It reflects some original lines of thought and deep intuition… Very lucid style and gripping narration...”
Dr. D. Babu Paul IAS, Additional Chief Secretary (Rtd) to the Govt of Kerala.
“Very nice write-up…. Best of luck!”-
Francois Gautier-Erstwhile South Asian correspondent for Le Figaro and the founder, ‘Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Museum of Indian History’, Pune.
“…could well turn out to be a mystic experience for a reader.…. Symbolism of Mahabharata war and mysticism in Ramayana etc are of special interest.”
Gouri Lekshmi Bayi, Princess of Travancore.
“..Readers outside India too can follow the story and its messages..….profound ideas are expressed in amazingly simple language…We see here that the scientific heritage of India, as revealed in Vedanta is parallel to or even identical to modern quantum science - a veritable contribution to science-literature.”
Padmasree P. Narayana Kurup, poet laureate and literary critic.
Author: A post graduate both
in Engineering and inManagement. Rtd General Manager, Cochin Shipyard Ltd, Professor in Management.

Top review from the United States

This is a well researched and well written book, the handiwork of an engineer. The familiar Hindu Purana stories are told in chronological order correlating them back to the Ten Avathars. It is a factual book and captivating read even if you are not familiar with Hinduism. The author has shown great respect for other religions while comparing Hindu beliefs and practises. Being a Christian myself, I can attest that the portrayal of Christianity in the Epilogue is fair and accurate. I will recommend this book for anyone with academic interest in Indian culture. -- Mano Oommen --

Being a millenial, we as a generation tend to overlook the rich cultural history of our nation, for the pleasures and excitement of modern paraphernalia. This book is a reminder, written in language that appeals to the modern generation. It contains a lot of unseen revelations, written in a way which captures the imagination of the reader.
