Joey Ahlbum, a New York City native, graduated from the high school of Art and Design and The School of Visual Arts. His animation and illustration work includes projects for Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, MTV, Frederator,and PBS. He was supervising director on the Emmy winning “Clifford’s Puppy Days” for Scholastic and worked on 9 seasons of “Elmo’s World” for Sesame Street. His personal films have toured in a Best of ASIFA series, been shown in Movies in the Park, the Zagreb Animation Festival, the Museum of Modern Art, and the Film Forum in NYC. He currently lives in Manhattan with his lovely wife and daughter.

Read this one with my little ones. First of all, you really can`t go wrong with dinosaurs. Second, this kid`s book by Joey Ahlbum is very cute, very funny, and very colorful! Lucy is a great character, and like all memorable books for children, there is memorable life long learnable about adventure, curiosity and of course the joy of learning something new! Great little book to read with your young ones.

The first thing you notice about this book is the big colourful illustrations. They are of exceptional quality and I'm not sure the cover really does the inside pages justice. Inside is a sweet story about how to accept differences in friends and how to interact with them. Lucy has a number of different friends and they all have different likes and tastes yet they can all get along and play together.

This is a great lesson for young kids and they won't help but to be capivated by the beautiful illustrations.

This book put a smile on my face, starting with the cover. The illustrations are bright, bold and happy. I love that the main dinosaur in this book is a girl. She is adorable in her pink sneakers. The author, Joey Ahlbum, has cleverly given each type of dinosaur an easy first name so kids will get a bit of education with the story. And they learn that even though others are different we can all be friends. Young kids will love this cute and friendly book!

Lucy the Dinosaur, Nice to meet you is a great book for children. Sometimes pictures of dinosaurs can be scary to little kids but Lucy is perfect for the young children. I really like the fact that you get to meet different characters and they are introduced in a really fun way, as friends of Lucy. The message is clear in this book it is OK to be different and of course it is really good to have many friends. Great job Joey with this book.
