I got this book for my 10yo son and I’m impressed by recipes so far. The ingredients are common and the recipes are simple enough. The recipes we’ve tried actually tasted good and I love the creativity with the Minecraft theme.

I bought this for my five year old. He loves it!! The game tips and tricks are such a good idea

My son was struggling with fractions a bit and he loves cooking and minecraft. Put them all together and this has become one of our favorite things to do. He gets to learn while doing somethings he loves. I get to spend quality time with my boy, and our family gets to enjoy the treats we make together.
Recipes are easy, ingredients are common and I have mostly everything already. Puts a nice spin on our everyday meals and snacks.

Bought as a gift for my child, thought it would include recipes children could do, but the majority are not. would be great to use to plan themed events, and the kids really enjoy it anyways.

My grandson is 12 and likes to "play" in the kitchen and loves Minecraft. A nice pick, he's enjoying it.

My 8 yr old has expressed more interest in the kitchen lately, but lacks the skills (mostly safety related) to execute the dishes we typically make in out home. He’s also a picky eater, but throw in his favorite Minecraft and he’s excited to try new things! He even likes to just sit and read the cookbook. The directions are clear and he’s able to follow them with minimal input from me. Admittedly I’m not very patient in the kitchen, so having a cookbook that gives my son some independence is helpful for everyone involved. Our fav so far are Alex’s chocolate chunk cookies. Can’t wait to try even more recipes!

I loved this book at first - the recipes look so creative and I love the way they made recipes to match Minecraft themes - so fun! Then we actually tried some of the recipes and… they’re quite flawed. The cocoa mix looks cool but is grainy and unpleasant to drink. The jello lime wedges (glistering melon) recipe was tedious / impossible to get the lime peels smooth on the inside so it was gross. I feel like they had great ideas but didn’t actually test them with real kids. Disappointing.

My 22 year old daughter ordered this for a bday gift for one of her friends, and everyone at the party muchly admired it. It's a perfect gift for post-secondary students who have moved out to attend school and need basic recipes to cook for themselves.

Came on time and in great condition. Has many cool Minecraft recipes in it and has something for everyone in it. If you have certain dietary restrictions or need to make substitutions you can with this cookbook. Perfect for parties or Minecraft themed treats.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kept the library book too long…finally bought our own copy
Reviewed in Canada on June 15, 2022
My kid wouldn’t return this book to the school library…for almost the whole school year. So I finally bought our own copy. :)

The recipes are good and (bonus!) the kids aren’t interested in trying new things. There are some solid favourites for sure- like Alex’s choco chip cookies (the only cookie recipe we use now!).

Update: almost one-year later and my elementary-age kids are cooking meals! Tonight it was salmon- and since the photo in the book had parsley, they ate it with that and garlic.

P.S. Salmon in Minecraft gives you 2 hunger points raw and 6 cooked.

4.0 out of 5 stars I read this cookbook to my kids! say what?!
Reviewed in Canada on March 4, 2019
I sat down to read through the book and the next moment both my kids were beside me begging me to read the recipes and gaming tips to them. When does that happen with a cookbook? When I ordered the book I was really looking for fun minecraft twists on desserts for a themed birthday party, and the book did not disappoint. The first recipe we tried was the Marshmallow Ghasts (rave reviews from the kids), we also whipped up some Dirt Block Fudge and some Slime Blocks to try tomorrow.
