"I downloaded this book as a Kindle First Look. The characters were achingly real, the dialogue authentic, the emotions raw, and the plot had just the right twist to remain plausible with the rest of the story. Brilliant first novel by this amazingly talented woman!" - Goodreads reader

"The story was very engaging and readable. From the very beginning, the reader feels hooked by what is happening to Samaira and her life. There is good use of tension, both romantic and then financially and psychologically, as her relationship develops and cracks appear . There was also the further interesting cultural background of Indian society and all the pressures that are involved there to marry and hide family conflict. There was good use of dialogue, inner thought and a general narrative. The book is a page turner and very well written by the author." - Goodreads reader

From the Author

I have always loved writing. When I got an idea from a true story, I thought of penning it down though it took me a while to start. I knew the story from the past five years but I started writing only two years ago in May 2018. I had my ups and downs during the process, dealt with writer's block etc, but I kept going. It was a big commitment. I had to stop my other hobbies to finish my first draft and had to totally concentrate on writing and research. I finished my first draft in June 2019 which was a big achievement but publishing the book after multiple drafts/edits was a bigger accomplishment. Today, I am happy to share this story with everyone else in the world.

Author Preeti Narang has written a captivating book based on real life events that is sure to stir the emotions of any and all readers -it’s about love, romance and the search for eternal love. Well done!

Preeti Narang does an admirable job in crafting and telling a unique, engaging, and illuminative story which speaks to the nature of ourselves and our broader world. This book is an honest expression of what we want, what we want to see, and what we fear. Such honesty is refreshing in a largely pretentious world.

Captivating story and beautifully written straight from the heart.

This is a tragic story that needed to be told. It happens more often than we realize, and in more countries than India. Aside from, the actual events, I learned a bit more about Indian culture. Overall,a very good story.

A page turner that I could not close after starting. I felt the author’s emotions - love, hurt, anger, acceptance. Mostly, I have a richer understanding of Indian culture around marriage. A great first book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Prodigal in it’s true sense.

From my little knowledge in the domain-i have always believed ‘love’ to be pure, tender, passionate and maybe divine to an extent. So the title of this book instantly caught my attention and i thought to myself,”Prodigal! Seriously?”
But as i dived into the world created by the author and layer by layer peeled this intricately crafted world of love, mystery and heartbreak, I must say that the author has turned me into a believer!Yes love can be prodigal and maybe in today’s fast pacing world - we all are reckless travellers(in a way) searching for love, vulnerable enough to believe and ignore as per the convenience of our heart.
The author has done a fabulous job with a brilliantly honed plot making the reader addicted to the storyline after a few pages which inevitably resulted in me binge reading the entire thing in just a day.
If you are seeking a journey with some mind boggling revelations making an ordinary couple not so ordinary after all- this is just the kind of ride you’ll completely relish.

Very well written, gripping till the end. Couldn’t put it down till I finished it in one sitting. Makes me wonder how facts can be stranger than fiction since the story is based on true incidents.
