Her heart or her world?

Grappling with the consequences of locking the door, Gianna’s life takes an even stranger turn when she tries to make things right. She struggles to learn more about the Caretaker’s duties and soon uncovers a terrifying secret: all the other Caretakers have begun to disappear and it looks like she’s next on the list.

When tragedy strikes close to home, she reaches out to her sole friend in the universe – a powerful man from another world who hasn’t stopped searching for her since the day she locked the door.

Their reunion is the start of a dangerous adventure, for the enemies of Teyan’s war-ravaged home soon target the door leading into our world. To save Earth, Gianna will have to lock the door. But doing so will sever her ties to Teyan forever.

The moment I finished book 1, I was on Amazon one-clicking this book. I really loved the first book and this installment was no different.
Although there were piece of this book that didn't go how I expected, that helped this rating. I loved that it wasn't predictable.
The characters I fell in love with in book one tugged on my heart even more in this book. Some, I wanted to love with all my heart. Others, I wanted to kick in the shins. No matter what way you look at it, Lizzy hooked me again with these characters.
The descriptions were amazing. I could vividly see things that I'd never imagined and it was like stepping into another world, one I really wasn't in a rush to leave.
There were a few things that in my opinion, were left a little loose toward the end, but that didn't bother me. I think with paranormal, that's okay. It's fun to wonder after you've read. It's fun to weave the future of the characters in your mind, wondering where they went after the last page has ended. Lizzy wrapped it up nicely at the end, making sure the biggest questions were answered, leaving just enough wonder to let my mind play and ask, "what if?". I'm not sure you can ask for more than that!
This is another wonderful series by Lizzy Ford and I highly recommend it! Bravo!

I don't even know where to begin with the reasons why this is such an amazing read. I truly loved this book along with the first one. The growing and confidence that Gi does in this book is both beautiful and (for me) somewhat hear breaking. She goes through a lot and comes out so very great as a character. By the time I got to the last page I added her to my list of favorite heroines. I loved all the characters and how each grew in their own way. The world's were amazing and creative and I loved reading about them. They were so well described that I could easily imagine them in my mind. I wish this series had more books because I don't want to see it end.

After having locked the door and learning there are extreme consequences, even though 10 years may not seem like a big consequence to everyone when Gianna herself didn't age, the unknown consequences are the ones she is most frightened of. The first book introduced us to the main characters and the premise of the story, but this one helps clarify a lot of the questions I had at the end of book 1. 10 years passed in the blink of an eye, but what she didn't expect was exactly what that would mean to the rest of the world and the 5 Peoples. For her, nothing changed, but as she learns, her actions have grave consequences and she'll lose more than 10 years of living with those she cares about.

I'll admit that this can be very confusing and how time loops are something most of us just won't quite grasp without reading this at least a second time. I think I spent more time trying to get my head around how it all worked rather than the story itself. Gianna's focus was primarily Teyan, but it wasn't like she didn't take an interest in the other Peoples, tribes as I like to think of them. I did really enjoy the contrasts of the different people and their worlds. You don't quite get that part in book 1. I actually thought it was time related or dimensional, but was even more than that.

At the end, she made the right choices, even if throughout you wondered if she would get there. I had to remind myself that she was still 19 at the end of the day and we all know teens/young adults are still pretty self-absorbed, even those who seem to have been unfairly treated for something that I consider self-defense. I liked the uniqueness of the story, in a time where I swear a lot of books are very similar in nature.

Six months after part one end, party two books, without leaving us in the dark about life between the two for Gianna. She realizes finally that she needs to return to Arizona and be the caretaker even with little to no knowledge of what that means. Will she find Teyan? Will Carey return and help Gianna?
She chooses to follow the Tili into the portal to find Teyan and ask for help when her mother turns up missing. We follow when she makes choices and learns about more than politics between the five peoples. History, technology, Rawerahs. It's all magnificently told in part two of the door.

When Book 1 ended I almost panicked trying to buy Book 2....I was in such a hurry to find out how the story would end. I loved the dilemma that Lizzy Ford put before the lead character Gianna, but I REALLY liked the fact that it wasn't a " cut and dry" ending. It left you wondering, but in a beautiful way! Great job Lizzy! You were able to pull me from my Zombies and made me actually enjoy a little romance thrown in with my Sci fi!

I gave it three stars just for the ending. Other than that, the book kind of dragged in places, making it hard to stay interested. I started to skim 60% through. Gianna is still annoying. The Tili and the other five peoples were interesting. The concept of the book was good. It just needs a little work.

You never see it coming, and you will enjoy the journey of getting there.
I would not have guessed the level of romance involved in this story from the first book, but part two leaves no doubt, and does not detract from the adventure at all.
The story wraps up nicely and leaves you feeling satisfied if it ends here. Although it could easily continue given the nature of the plot, and that wouldn't be a bad thing either.
Editing it's good.

Lizzy's imagination when she is creating new worlds and their stories is exemplary. The concept of these books drew me in and after reading book 1 I had to find book 2. I'm not sure how she does it but Lizzy's storylines and the characters she writes grab me from the first page.

4.0 out of 5 stars Gianna will ihren Fehler wiedergutmachen - und nervt immer noch
Reviewed in Germany on March 13, 2016

Durchaus empfehlenswert.
