Kanji Flashcards 〔1st 2nd and 3rd grade〕 Kindle Edition

3.6 3.6 out of 5 stars 9 ratings

Here is a flash-card-style learning material for learners of Japanese of any level.
Of the 2136 kanjis in the official Table of Kanji of Common Use(常用漢字表), this edition covers 440 ones.

You'll see a picture of a kanji with its reading(s) blanked, on it idiom(s) using the title kanji and their English translations are provided. Then you can flip the screen to see the picture with its reading(s) on it.

All the kanjis and their readings of the cards are from the official Table of Common Use as mentioned above, however, the author had to take the liberty of putting the marks shown below for some of them to show which of these kanjis(or some of their readings) are impossible to be dubbed today as "daily use" .

I like the concept of kanji learning in this book: every flashcard consists of not only kanji and its usual meaning and reading, but all kun yomi and on yomi readings and Japanese words where you can see those readings.
I must admit that this is a new concept for me and it works quite fine because this is the first time I focus on kanji reading inside the word and not only on the word itself and feel betrayed when I see same kanji in another word and discover that the reading is different,
Definitelly good thing for studying kanji!

Simple little book that covers 440 of the over 2100 kanji that the Japanese learner needs to master to read Japanese.

Each kanji appears on a page with a couple of example words with the readings blanked out and then you flip the page and the readings appear. No readings are given on the first page which is useful for trying to test yourself and then you can check if you got the answer right on the next page.

The book follows the convention of the ON readings in katakana and the KUN readings in hiragana and I particularly liked that there is no romaji in this book at all which forces lazy readers like me to read the Japanese. However, if you are not yet comfortable with reading hiragana and katakana then this book might be a bit of a learning leap.

The central kanji on each page is large and clear and the kanji compound words are clear enough for most people to read comfortably but some of the furigana is a little small so that might make reading it harder for people with visual issues.

Overall a very useful book.

Recommended.

Esperaba más de este libro.
Es igual a que uno mismo busque los kanjis en internet y su sognificado.

Préparez vous à faire du découpage.
Ce ne sont pas des cartes au final, ce n'est que du papier...
