This book is a compilation of the summer research opportunities for high school students. This book is a result of our own research into available opportunities primarily in the STEM and humanities arena.

We have over 175 premier programs nationally and covering about 33 states and Canada. Majority of the programs are either FREE or pay Stipend!. Apart from an excellent compilation of these programs we also offer our first-hand experience on how to successfully prepare and apply to these programs. In some instances we share our personal experience having participated in some of these programs. We took a lot of effort to list programs that are available in summer and year-round. We also included a lot of programs aimed specifically at underrepresented minorities with hope this would increase awareness and participation. The book is not limited to science and technology but also covers excellent programs in humanities as well.

Each program listed has a wealth of information in an easy to read graphical format to include background, costs, stipend, housing, eligibility, and deadlines. Although we focused a lot on programs that either pay a stipend or is of no cost, we also included programs that have a fee to ensure we cater to all students. The book is organized by each state making it easy to find programs in a given location or nationally.

This book is a perfect tool for high school students who want to conduct independent research at premier institutions. It is also aimed at high school guidance counselors who can quickly share the relevant programs to their students based on their criteria and interest. This book will aid you in your journey to find a perfect opportunity to research in your interested area.
