Some things written in the book, you can tel are from a different age when you could say certain things. I skipped those parts. The rest, is very conversational and grabbed my kids attention. They especially liked the part about how the children lived.

I expected a bit more in the style of the book. It looked like a book report that was made into an E-book and then printed out... Which I thought the price I paid was a bit much for that. However, it is a good book for information... I will be using it in my Tapestry of GRACE homeschool group.

I liked the context of the book. I didn't like the fact that it went back and forth between a story and a documentary. It is a very easy read. Overall I enjoyed the book and would recommend it.

We used this book to supplement our ancient history studies. It was written in typical late 1800's form, but very likable if you don't mind the run-on sentences and unfamiliar terminology, which does certainly add charm.
