Hannie attended the University of Southern Mississippi and received a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition & Dietetics and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Nutrition & Food Systems. She enjoys cooking and experimenting with food. She hopes to inspire readers to learn how to prepare delicious meals with simple to follow instructions and easy-to-acquire ingredients.
Living in the south and in an era where convenience is a commodity, unhealthy fast-food diets have caused health problems across the world. Hannie is inspired to motivate readers to start cooking and eating from home. This saves time, money, and health!

Hello! My is Hannah Abedikichi (formerly Hannie P. Scott) and I adore food. I began creating recipe books and food blogging in 2014 as a hobby. I never ever dreamed it would turn into this.
The only thing I love more than food is PEOPLE. I am a mother to two beautiful babies and a wife to an amazing man, so I’ve got plenty of mouths to feed at home. In fact, cooking for my family is one of my greatest sources of joy. I enjoy meals that are simple, healthy, and delicious, and I’ve found that creating wholesome recipes helps me grow as a wife and mother.
Though I mentioned I’m a fan of healthy cooking, I’ll admit that there is a time and place for everything – and often, the time and place for cake is here and now. It’s all about achieving a sense of balance. Ultimately, my goal is to share simple, delicious recipes for REAL PEOPLE.
Why do I do this?
I love food and I love sharing food things with people. Whether it be actually making food to share with my family and friends or sharing recipes and tips with people…..sharing food brings me so much joy.

A blog where I share real life things. It will not be perfect. It will sometimes messy. But it will be a breath of fresh and a place to find simple & delicious recipes for real people. My mission is to simplify and uplift, one recipe at a time.
My thoughts…..
I want my blog, recipe books, and overall presence (social media and real life) to be authentic, fun, and uplifting. I want to share recipes and other content that is simple and real life. I want to show the good side of things but also show the messy side. I don’t want to have a perfect Instagram feed of all white background recipes.
I’ll show the beautiful blueberry pancakes but also the burnt cookies…. The perfect shots of the kids all dressed up and clean and smiling, but also the pictures of them with peanut butter all over their faces while they track mud into the house. Food is such a big part of EVERYONE’s lives and it's one of the very favorite parts of my life.
I like things to be simple. I want to help people feed their families delicious BUT super simple recipes. I like healthy recipes and eating healthy, but I love sharing the not-so-healthy things on occasion. A lot of food blogs and food blogger Instagram accounts often overwhelm me with the illusion of perfection, the complicated recipes, the almost unheard of ingredients. I want to be a place where people can come for food and recipe ideas that are familiar and simple, but delicious and fun.
I love food and cooking so much and I want to SHARE that with people all over the world.

My 2 little guys absolutely love helping me when I cook, and these recipes make that easy. They are super easy to follow and are laid out step by step. This is a great feature for anyone who is just beginning out in the kitchen. I do wish there were a few more pictures, however. While I consider myself an experienced person when it comes to cooking, visualization helps me. That being said, I will likely order the paperback version of this to add to my collection.
As busy, working mother of 5 hungry sons, I am always looking for new and easy recipes. This book will be a huge help for me in the kitchen! I love simple, yet yummy, recipes, and this book is full of them! I love that most ingredients are things I already have in my house - I hate when recipes need a bunch of strange, random ingredients I will never use again. Although we are a busy family, home cooked dinners are important to us. And this book - filled with actual 5 ingredient recipes - will be a huge help for us! Making our first one tonight for dinner!!
I like that this book begins out with a conversion table, which is a nice and helpful feature. I also like that it is divided easily into sections, and offers recipes for seafood, chicken, beef, pork, etc. So far, our favorite is the double decker tacos. While I already made tacos in our regular monthly rotation, it was nice to have a new recipe for them. I would definitely recommend this cookbook for any busy family who still enjoys the value of a good home cooked meal.

Some of the recipes, however, are *very* basic (as in, you can find these recipes right on the back side of the jar the ingredients come in). For example, the recipe for teriyaki chicken is just chicken, rice, and teriyaki sauce...not exactly the most mind-blowing recipe. The same holds true of the "Hawaiian BBQ Chicken" recipe - chicken, pineapple chunks, and Hawaiian-style BBQ sauce.

The book is very well written and doesn't have a very long introduction. Each recipe includes very clear and simple instructions. I like that Some recipes are made from scratch, while others use already prepared ingredients. There is an abbreviation list and conversion chart at the beginning of the book, which is a big help if you are new to cooking.
I have only made a couple of the recipes so far, but am very pleased. I have never tried a maple mustard baked chicken before, and the name intrigued me to try it. My three year old wasn't particularly pleased by it, but my husband and I enjoyed it. It wasn't too sweet, just perfectly spiced and new. I can't really describe the taste, kind of funky if you have never had it, but not bad either. My daughter's choice was the chicken and cheese rolls, but then again chicken and cheese anything is her favorite.
I am really looking forward to trying more of these recipes in the near future!
