Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

It is a morality tale, basically preaching that intemperance will change your health and morals over time. For me, no character reminded me of a real person. The second chapter was a year later. I didn't get beyond that.
Read for historical perspective. I had to keep that in mind when the actions of the characters bordered on he ridiculous. And the preachy, self-righteous tone came through.
Overall a good read. Even though written in 1854, novel gives perspective on the overall extreme and ignorant positions taken by todays right and left.
